“Self love is the best love” – the internet
Have you been wondering how you can cultivate more self love into your every day life? While the cliche version of self love is things like treating yourself and luxurious bubble baths (all valid) another way you can cultivate self love is with journaling! But before I jump into some awesome self love journal prompts lets clear a few things up first!
What is self love?
According to Merriam Webster Dictionary
Self-love is
1: an appreciation of one’s own worth or virtue and
2: proper regard for and attention to one’s own happiness or well-being
that means valuing and accepting yourself as you would your best friend and valuing your happiness and well-being.
Self-love has both internal and external components. The internal components are how you feel about yourself which often shows it’s self in your self-talk. The external component is how you care for yourself (grooming, nourishing, finances, etc.). Caring for your self mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally is how you show yourself love.

Why does self-love matter?
When you love yourself you show up in the world as your best self. You also don’t accept bad treatment from others, regardless of the relationship. By building your self-love you’re less likely to attract narcissists. Narcissists prey on people they see as weak and that won’t be you!
What happens when you don’t practice self love?
When you don’t practice self-love it starts feeling sucky on the inside. You don’t have confidence. You feel like people don’t care about you or they use you. You constantly compare yourself to others because you don’t love and accept yourself. You constantly seek “improvement”. Your self talk is negative af. And more
